Zephyr Tank – What is it in Vaping?
Definition
The Zephyr Tank is a high-performance sub-ohm atomiser designed for direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping. It combines large e-liquid capacity with adjustable airflow and easy top-fill convenience, making it ideal for cloud-chasing and flavour enthusiasts. Unlike a Nicotine“>Zero Nicotine pod, the Zephyr Tank is built for high-wattage devices and works best with low-nicotine, high-VG juices. Its purpose is to deliver dense vapour and rich taste while remaining beginner-friendly thanks to slide-open refills and quick-change coils.
Technical Details
How It Works
The Zephyr Tank uses a press-fit Coil“>mesh coil system seated in a Zinc Alloy chassis for rapid, even heating. E-liquid feeds through four large wicking ports to prevent dry hits. Air enters via dual cyclops slots, travels under the coil, then up the chimney, creating a smooth, turbulent airflow that maximises flavour and cloud production.

Usage & Tips
Practical Advice
- Priming:Drip 5-6 drops onto the cotton before first use to avoid burning.
- Wattage: Start 10 W below coil rating and increase gradually.
- Chain Vaping: Close airflow slightly to keep wicks saturated and prevent Ohm“>Zero Ohm error messages from over-hot coils.
- Leak Fix: Ensure O-rings are seated and tank is not over-tightened on the mod.
- Safety: Use high-drain batteries and never exceed recommended wattage to avoid venting.
History & Context
Released in 2022 as a collaboration between two Australian mod makers, the Zephyr Tank bridged the gap between the popular Zenith Tank (mouth-to-lung) and the larger Zeus Tank. Its mesh coil technology and child-resistant top-fill quickly set the standard for mid-wattage sub-ohm clearomisers in the ANZ market.
